Mad Skills
The inevitable happened. I took Kate to the urgent care this week to have a little rolled up blue hair elastic removed from her nose. Through Kate, I'm actually honing my extraction skills, and while at the urgent care, made a note of two items I might put on my birthday list:It seemed that the trauma of the experience actually broke Kate of her dirty little habit, but sadly, it only lasted two days. She tried some little tiny Legos up her nose yesterday. The second one was on Ben's watch. He got out a pair of tweezers and laid Kate down. (She knows the routine by now.) The thought crossed his mind, "If I can just get the Lego without touching her nostril...good thing I have MAD Operation skills!"

It's funny because it is not me! Good luck with that one!
What in the WORLD is soo fun about putting stuff in little places?
(Now Operation...THAT was fun!)
When you touch Kate's nose with the pliers does she open her mouth and make an obnoxious buzzing sound?
You know, as soon as I laughed hilariously at your original post on this subject, Bryce started putting odd things in his ears. Bobby pins are the scariest so far.
Hopefully that'll be your only trip to urgent care.
Oh, so sorry! Wouldn't LEGOS hurt?!?!
My little bro. once put a pellet from a pellet gun up his nose. Not because he liked putting stuff up his nose, but because he smelled everything! It was major trauma getting it out! I'm so sorry Kir! I hate the ER...especially not fun with kids!
I'm so glad you're putting posts about these things. It makes for a good laugh!
Wow--the hidden talents parenthood brings out in us! Maybe you missed your calling as an surgeon?!
YOWCH! Just thinking about sticking things in my ears/nose hurts. How can she keep doing it? I hope for your sake that she grows out of this phase soon!
