First Day of First Grade
Ian started 1st grade today! I can't believe a baby of mine is so tall and grown-up and picked out his own shirt from H&M! He loved his first day. Here is an interview with Ian, since he doesn't really volunteer information.
What was your favorite part of the day? Sitting at the tables with checker boards on them when it was lunch.
Who is your teacher? Mrs. Delaney.
What do you like about her? She's a good teacher. People say she's the best teacher.
How do you like your new school...Stonecreek? It's different because it's all day.
What do you like about first grade? We get two lunches. One is a recess. I love going on the monkey bars.
Does Mrs. Delaney have any rules? Yes. No worries in first grade. Keep your hands to yourself. Walk to your school after the bell rings one time. And a bunch of other rules.
Who did you play with at recess? Hovannes and Ben. We played tag.
What did you learn? We read a book, The Teacher and the Black Lagoon.
Way to go, Ian! We are so proud of you!

What a handsome young man!
I love the "keep your hand to yourself" rule. I think I need to institute that one in our house now.
1st grade is totally the best. All day without having to think about one kid! And also the worst: all day that "the world" has him!
Major Milestone.
An exciting day for you and Ian! First grade is so much fun! They do so much "growing up." Cherish it! The interview was precious.
Too cute Kir. I love your blog.
How exciting! Love the interview.
I really can't believe how our kids are growing up so fast!
What a cute little man, with good fashion sense, I might add -- nice shirt, Ian! I admire how he is able to get to the meat of the matter in a few words :).
