Daylight Savings

I have a real reason to love daylight savings time this year. Yes, many of you got to sleep in an hour, but I have missed out on that benefit for years now. My kids' body clocks take a while to adjust. (It's Wednesday and they are still getting up at the 5 o'clock hour!)

I started swimming this year with Audra and (sometimes) Marea. We swim in an outdoor pool, because you can do that in California. However, the early mornings have been getting colder and colder and darker and darker. Although it can be amazing to watch the sunrise, it has been increasingly more difficult to get out of bed in the morning, and even more difficult to plunge my body into the water while it's dark.
But this morning was different. It felt at least ten degrees warmer and it was light!
So here's to daylight savings.

At least someone found something positive about it!!! I hate it!!! I hate that it's dark when Ryan gets home. I hate that my kids are up at 5:00 am. But alas... I digress.

Yeah, I usually hate it, too. It's the first time since the days of "sleeping in" I actually like something about it.

That is the ONLY good thing. Especially when you live in the Northpole and the sun officially set today at 4:23 pm.

OK Kir...for some reason I haven't been able to see new posts for about a month on my computer...don't ask me why...but I got caught up on ya'll tonight. My aunt lives in San Diego & they had to evacuate...the fire came within about 1/4 mile of their house! I'm so glad that you are all okay, though I know that the air quality stinks...you're welcome to come over to AZ :)! Another good thing about Arizona is there is no daylight savings time change :)

Wow! What I wouldn't give to swim OUTSIDE!!! Did you ever work at Steiner in November in the snow and have to roll the covers off the pool for those nutty swim team kids?

I think it was nice this year. The month delay in beginning really made me appreciate having light in the mornings. I've decided I can tolerate the earlier darkness in exchange for the light mornings.
