Sonic Boom
Our condo is for sale and an agent and their client were here to look at it. At 12:45 pm we all hear what sounds like something very heavy land on the roof.
Agent: Do people live upstairs?
Me: There is no upstairs.
Agent: (obviously not believing me) Well, then what was that?
Me: Uuuuuh...
Turns out it was a Sonic Boom! The Space Shuttle Atlantis flew by on its way to Edwards Air Force Base where it landed at 12:49 pm.

Happy Birthday, Jacob!
"I'm foah!" Jacob exclaimed as he got out of bed. I can't believe it! I love this kid.
He is full of spunk and has boundless energy. He's courageous and excited
about every moment of life. He loves anything Star Wars or Mario Brothers. He wanted chicken noodle soup for dinner and a cake with a light saber on it. You got it , Mister!

Happy Father's Day
We had a rousing round of home-made miniature golf at Dadzerradz (how Jacob insists we say Dads R Rad - the best Primary Activity EVER) to kick off the weekend. On Father's Day Ben got to take an uninterrupted nap, and of course, the kids made cards and we showered him with gifts (including BYU-UCLA tickets) and the boys sang him the daddy song, I'm So Glad When Daddy Comes Home. Thanks for being a great dad!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of our honoree with each of the kids.
We Love you!

You're a Grand Old Flag!
Ian's Kindergarten class had a turn to raise the flag at the monthly flag ceremony at Eastshore Elementary tis week. I was surprised that Ian was the song leader, announcing the song and leading the Kindergarten classes in singing You're a Grand Old Flag. I was surprised that he belted it out with no fear! He did not get that from me!
Kissing at age 6
This week we went to San Diego to visit some dear friends who were there on vacation. Ian loves Madelyn, a friend of 4 years, which is a pretty long time when you're only six. Madelyn wanted to take the relationship to the next level and kissed Ian a couple of times while we were there. I wasn't sure about his reaction, so I asked him about it the next day.
Mom: So Ian, did Madelyn kiss you yesterday?
Ian: Yeah.
Mom: What did you think about that?
Ian: She forgot.
Mom: She forgot what?
Ian: To wait until she's 16.
Mom: Really?
Ian: She forgot 3 times.

Popcorn Panic Attack
While I was furiously cleaning the bathrooms getting ready for our landlord to come over and take pictures to put our condo on the market, Jacob decides he needs a snack. Popcorn! He puts it in the microwave and sets the time for 15 minutes. After some time, he smells smoke and decides he'd better tell mom what is going on. "Mom, the popcorn is smoking." Sure enough, the popcorn is smoking. In fact, the whole kitchen is smoking. Coughing, I make my way to the microwave, (which is in the pantry) to turn it off. Luckily there was no fire, but plenty of smoke damage, which took us an entire weekend to repair. My landlord was too busy to come by that day (phew).
The good news is, we are moving to a bigger house. It's almost twice as big as the our condo, it has four bedrooms, a garage and a yard. We're thrilled!

California Girl
We love having a girl! Kate is such a happy baby. She's very social, demands everyone's attention and loves to eat (can you tell?). Her favorite things are cats, toy animals, her Mommy and Me movie, when dad comes home and smiling at strangers at the store to keep mom from getting her shopping done.
She doesn't like: baby food, mom walking by without picking her up, too many squeezes from brother Jacob, Teletubbies, tomatoes.
